Today we launch Inspiring Care Stories which tell how the social service workforce has adapted, coped and excelled during the COVID-19 pandemic. We’ve gathered over 60 stories from all types of social services across the whole of Scotland and from today are sharing some of those wonderful stories in our new online Inspiring Care Stories resource.

Applications to the 2020-21 Voluntary Sector Development Fund (VSDF) are now open. It supports voluntary sector organisations providing social services registered with the Care Inspectorate. We administer the VSDF on behalf of the Scottish Government. Around £900,000 is available during 2020-21 to contribute to costs associated with staff meeting the required registration qualification criteria we set.

In just 12 weeks support workers in care at home and housing support who were in their role on or before 2 October 2017 must be registered with us. The registration deadline is 30 September 2020 for any workers in post on or before 2 October 2017. Workers who started after this date, should apply for registration as soon as possible.
